Chevie's diary - Introduction

Hello to all mommies-to-be!

I am so very excited about having the opportunity to share with you one of the most wonderful and joyful times of my life. My name is Chevie and I live in Texas just outside of Dallas. Here are a few details about my family and I. I am 20 years old, and my husband, Jason, is 25. He works for an orthopedic and surgery supply company and I am a secretary for a sales rep. company. We were married this year on February 12. We have been together since 1995, planned on having a big wedding, then found out about “baby” and downsized the wedding. In addition to me becoming a mother I am also a stepmother to a 5-year-old named Brynden. He is the most adorable little boy and I love and care for him just like he is my own, and from what I can tell the feeling is mutual.

My husband and I found out that we were expecting after suspecting and receiving some strange signs. My husband had been telling me that he thought that I was pregnant, and he had been getting these strange feelings about it. I told him that I was probably about to start due to my cramping and sore breasts. Then about a week later we were watching TV and drinking a few beers when a commercial came on for The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, and the topic was, “Stop Partying, You're Pregnant”!! Needless to say, we were both shocked out of our minds. Then Christmas came a few days later and Jason gave me a pregnancy test wrapped in Christmas paper and told me to go take it when I felt ready. Well, I was ready right that moment and practically made a mad dash for the bathroom. As soon as my urine hit the test stick it produced a positive result and I ran to get my sister-in-law so she could double-check for me before I broke the news to Jason. Well, he heard me telling his sister and came in there with her and saw the test and grabbed me and hugged me and we exchanged kisses and “I love yous,” meanwhile his mother and sister are standing nearby crying. Let me tell you that it was one of the happiest times in my life.

So now here we are, 16 weeks and 6 days pregnant and looking forward to nurturing and caring for our bundle of joy.

Till next time, everyone take care!

Chevie and bebe
