One-day workshop prepares fitness and health professionals to advise and train pregnant women and new mothers. The workshop gives participants the ability to:

  • explain physiological, anatomical and psychological changes that affect exercise during the childbearing year
  • design fitness strategies for expectant and new mothers based on the guidelines of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American College of Sports Medicine, and the Aerobic Fitness Association of America
  • teach safe, effective exercises that reduce pregnancy discomfort, prepare for labor and accelerate recovery from delivery
  • learn guidelines for nutrition during the childbearing year
  • understand the application of relaxation training and guided imagery
Includes a comprehensive training manual.
Fee: $99

Two-day instructor training prepares fitness and health professionals to design, market and instruct a Healthy Expectations Pregnancy Fitness and Parenting Fitness program. The training includes the one-day workshop and an additional day of training to learn:

  • Healthy Expectations program format and class format
  • Teaching low-impact and water aerobics
  • Marketing strategies and legal considerations
  • Teaching a mom-and-baby program
This comprehensive instructor training and certification includes:
  • a 100 page training manual with research articles
  • Essential Exercises for the Childbearing Year by Elizabeth Noble
Tuition: $259

Certification and Licensing includes all of the above plus:

  • a take-home exam for Instructor Certification
  • consent and registration forms, marketing letters, choreography and over 60 student handouts
  • use of all Healthy Expectations materials and name
  • membership in parent organization with yearly manual updates

Sandra Greiner, a mother of two and founder of Healthy Expectations, Inc. is dedicated to promoting a holistic approach to fitness and health during the childbearing year. Her unique Pregnancy Fitness and Parenting Fitness programs have been features in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Baby, Windy City Sports and Home Gym and Fitness. Sandra is a contributing writer to Pregnancy Today. She has a B.S. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sandra has worked in the fitness field for eleven years and is certified by the Aerobic Fitness Association of America as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Before becoming a mother, she worked in corporate wellness at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Sandra is a member of ASPO/Lamaze, Doulas of North America, LaLeche League International, the Association of Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Health and the National Wellness Association.
