Question: Do you have any suggestions for clothing that would work in those awkward stages at the very beginning of pregnancy and immediately after the birth?Although there are many alternatives here, including buying larger sizes in regular clothing, a more tailored approach would make you feel more comfortable and more attractive. Some manufacturers offer a more flexible solution , including Japanese Weekend with their "During and After" bottoms. These are leggings, pants and skirts that conform to your changing body size during your nine months and beyond. Don't forget basics like elastic waist shorts -- especially those with a pull-string waistban, so you can make them as tight or as loose as you need. See the article, Too Small for Maternity Clothes? by Jody Gardner and Cherie Serota (authors of Pregnancy Chic: The Fashion Survival Guide), for more ideas along these lines.
