Question: What is the most economical way to purchase maternity clothes?Once you've come to the realization that it's time to start your maternity wardrobe, don't go out and buy all your outfits at once. Start slowly with a few good basics - usually you will find that you will need maternity bottoms before you need the tops. Get yourself a few basics, such as black leggings or pants, a black skirt, a pair of jeans or twills. Mix and match these basics with some non-maternity tops while you can. Then, as you need them, start picking up a few fashion tops along the way to go with your maternity basic bottoms. If you need career clothes, try to start with one maternity coordinating suit (pant or skirt, whichever you prefer), and maybe buy a non-maternity unstructured jacket that you can layer over some of your basic maternity bottoms and tops. The idea is not to shop impulsively, but to go slowly, getting what you need at the time you need it.
