Vacuum Extractor
A metal or plastic cup that attaches to the baby's head and uses suction to help guide it out of the birth canal during delivery. Generally used when the explusive plase of labor is not progressing well. It may leave a blister or mark on the baby's head. (The vacuum extractor is an alternative to forceps.)
